Welcome back!

We have leagues starting games. THe HNSOP wanted to pass on some information for those officials working this weekend.

If you have not looked over the Hockey Canada officiating guidelines for a return to play, please do so.  Here is the link

https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/exclusive/return-to-hockey/plans/officiating

Also refer to the HNS screening tool. Each individual rink has it's own plan for operating.  If you can not find these plans, please contact your assigner for that info.

If you answer yes to any of the following questions you are not to go to the rink.  Please contact your assignor and they will find a replacement.
1. Are you feeling ill or have symptoms of Covid 19?
2. Have you been outside of Altantic Canada in the last 14 days, or had contact with someone who has?
3. Have you been in contact with any who has Covid 19 in the last 14 days?

Other important information;
Just like players and team personnel, officials will have to respect the same conditions as those required for a safe return. When Carpooling, the wearing of a mask will be mandatory.
When the dressing room does not allow a physical distance of two (2) metres, the officials shall wear the mask at all times inside the dressing room. For the officials’ warm-up period, movement within the arena will not be permitted.(Warm-up must be completed in the dressing room) If an official is required to walk around outside the dressing room, they must wear the mask.
Prior to the game, several players and/or off-ice officials have access to the officials’ dressing room for various reasons. Restricted authorizations will be granted to the stakeholders who have a specific task in the organization of the game. This intervention will also be done while respecting the two (2) metres and wearing a mask.
After the game, some participants (supervisor, off-ice officials,or official scorer) have access to the officials’ dressing room for various reasons. These interventions will be done while respecting the two (2) metres and wearing a mask when the size of the locker room allows it.
During the game, regularly a player loses a piece of equipment (helmet, glove, neck guard, etc.), the officials will be advised not to retrieve these and to allow the player involved to return to the ice to retrieve it.
